{"id":10555,"date":"2022-05-28T13:45:04","date_gmt":"2022-05-28T17:45:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?p=10555"},"modified":"2023-12-12T06:36:46","modified_gmt":"2023-12-12T11:36:46","slug":"sony-and-playstation-production-turning-gran-turismo-into-movie-neill-blomkamp-sought-to-direct","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?p=10555","title":{"rendered":"Sony and PlayStation Production Turning \u2018Gran Turismo\u2019 Into Movie; Neill Blomkamp Sought To Direct"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions had a successful run at the box office for \u201c<strong>Uncharted<\/strong>\u201d which grossed more than $400 million in global box office earlier this year, now they teamed up again to get behind the wheel for a movie adaptation of the iconic driving game Gran Turismo.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions had three screen adaptations on the way, a Netflix \u201c<strong>Horizon: Zero Dawn<\/strong>\u201d series, an Amazon \u201c<strong>God of War<\/strong>\u201d series, and this \u201c<strong>Gran Turismo<\/strong>\u201d project that currently didn\u2019t have a home yet.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Initially, it was assumed that \u201cGran Turismo\u201d was another series, but now it has been confirmed by Deadline that no such series is planned, so it will very likely get the film treatment. The project is in very early development, and Neil Blomkamp\u00a0is being eyed to direct.
