And now, Netflix is sharing a scary new trailer of “Wednesday<\/strong>”\u00a0<\/i>series. The streamer unveiled the first trailer of “The Addams Family”<\/i><\/strong> spinoff show.<\/p>\n When writers Al Gough and Miles Millar\u2019s pitch for “Wednesday”<\/strong> to Netflix, they were struck, like an arrow from a crossbow, right in their hearts. They nailed the tone, the spirit and the characters, but gave us a fresh way into this story. The upcoming eight-episode series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday\u2019s years as a student at the peculiar Nevermore Academy.<\/p>\n Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago – all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships of the strange and diverse student body.<\/p>\n A visionary director and lifelong Addams Family fan Tim Burton wanted to make his television directorial debut with this series. Burton has had a history of telling empowering stories about social outsiders like Edward Scissorhands, Lydia Deetz, and Batman. And now he brings his unique vision to Wednesday and her spooky classmates at Nevermore Academy.<\/p>\n The team also includes Andrew Mittman for 1.21 (The Addams Family, Alphas), Kevin Miserocchi (Tee and Charles Addams Foundation), Kayla Alpert (Code Black, Up All Night), Jonathan Glickman for Glickmania (RESPECT, Addams Family 2), and Gail Berman (The Addams Family, Alphas).<\/p>\n Gough told Vanity Fair <\/i>that he and Miller saw Burton as \u201cthe Mount Everest of directors,\u201d but were pleasantly surprised when he\u00a0said yes to their project within three days of seeing the pilot script.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was interested in where it was going, the mystery of the show,\u201d Gough said. \u201cHe had a lot of questions about the previous television work we\u2019d done, like how we were able to achieve it. He really loved that you had time to be with Wednesday and explore the character and you didn\u2019t have to, you know, wrap things up in an hour and 45 minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n
