Jagged Edge Productions has unveiled the first trailer for \u201cWinnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey<\/strong>\u201d which twisted into a blood-spattered slasher on A.A. Milne\u2019s beloved characters following the original stories entered the public domain this year.<\/p>\n

Craig David Dowsett and Chris Cordell star as Winnie and Piglet, who go on a rampage after Christopher Robin (Nikolai Leon) abandons them for college. Without the influence of their human friend, the two turn feral \u2013 seeking prey and stalking the humans near their homes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The trailer shows a pretty regular slasher flick, a group of teenage girls terrorized by two axe-wielding murderers, who appear to be wearing mask.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rhys Waterfield helms the film which was shot near England\u2019s Ashdown Forest \u2013 the inspiration for the Hundred Acre Woods. The film reportedly balances a tone of darkly comic absurdism and genuine scares.<\/p>\n

But the Hundred Acre Wood has been relatively quiet, as the most recent\u00a0“<\/span>Winnie the Pooh”<\/i><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>animated movie was released in 2011, and the live-action\u00a0“<\/span>Christopher Robin”<\/i><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>released in 2018.<\/p>\n

This is only possible because A.A. Milne\u2019s original\u00a0<\/span>Winnie-the-Pooh<\/i>\u00a0<\/span>book has finally lapsed into the public domain, being one of the most culturally relevant stories to have broken free of copyright recently. Disney has retained control over the franchise for several decades, ever since adapting the original books into animated films.<\/p>\n
