Netflix has unveiled a new trailer for \u201cThe Swimmers<\/strong>,\u201d which is\u00a0set around two Syrian sisters who flee their war-torn home in Damascus, swim for hours in waves beating Mediterranean seas to reach Greece as asylum seekers before going on to compete at the Rio Olympic Games in 2016.<\/p>\n

The trailer for “The Swimmers”<\/strong> reveals a three\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>important structure for story of Yusra Mardini (Nathalie Issa) and Sara Mardini (Manal Issa): their training and competing days in civil war Syria, their daunting experience in a lifeboat with a group of people who fled the country with them, and Yusra’s winning round at the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.<\/p>\n

The film is directed by Sally El Hosaini, the filmmaker earned international fame in 2012 after also writing and directing a story about siblings in \u201cMy Brother The Devil<\/strong>.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0S<\/span>creenplay by Jack Thorne and Sally El Hosaini, who draws inspiration from Mardini\u2019s own autobiography, \u201cButterfly: From Refugee to Olympian – My Story of Rescue, Hope, and Triumph.\u201d P<\/i>roduced Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Tim Cole, Ali Jaafar as well as executive produced by Stephen Daldry, Katherine Pomfret, Tilly Coulson.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Besides the strong performance from Nathalie Issa (Yusra), Manal Issa (Sara), the film also boasting the cast of Matthias Schweigh\u00f6fer (Sven), Ahmed Malek (Nizar), James Krishna Floyd (Emad), Nahel Tzegai (Shada) and Kinda Alloush (Mervat) with Ali Suliman (Ezzat).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“The Swimmers<\/strong>” is consider to be one of the biggest Oscar hopeful for\u00a0Netflix’s films.\u00a0<\/span>The film, shot across UK, Belgium, and Turkey in 2021, is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival\u00a0<\/span>on September 8th, Netflix premieres\u00a0“<\/span>The Swimmers”<\/i><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>on November 26.<\/p>\n
