In an essay recently published by U.K. publication the Critic write Sean Egan, calling Scorsese an “Uneven Talent,” Egan goes on to say, \u201cNew Scorsese films are routinely an hour too long\u2026his directorial talent has never been as great as occasional masterpieces like “Goodfellas”<\/i>\u00a0tricked us into believing it was.\u201d Even he recalls Scorsese\u2019s “Mean Streets,”<\/i><\/strong>\u00a0\u201cnot just overly episodic but in places actively badly directed.\u201d<\/p>\n
The article\u2019s assertions caught the eye of another Oscar-winning director like Guillermo del Toro, who offered his reactions on Twitter this morning.<\/p>\n
\u201cI very, very seldom post anything contradictory here,\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>began del Toro, \u201c said mild -manner director,\u00a0\u201cThe amount of misconceptions, sloppy inaccuracies and hostile adjectives not backed by an actual rationale is offensive, cruel and ill-intentioned.
