The Oscar-winning actress did not give any reason for her decision, telling <em>Variety<\/em>, \u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019ll be a part of it, but I\u2019m very happy to be a cheerleader.\u201d<br \/><br \/>Swinton had been slated to play the female lead in the production, opposite Mark Ruffalo. <em><strong>Parasite<\/strong><\/em>, based on Ho\u2019s acclaimed film, will be a six-part limited series on HBO. Swinton, who had earlier worked with the Korean director on <em><strong>Snowpiercer<\/strong> <\/em>and <em><strong>Okja, <\/strong><\/em>had earlier lauded <em><strong>Parasite<\/strong> <\/em>as being \u201cgood for cinema from start to finish.\u201d<br \/><br \/>After its release in 2019, <em><strong>Parasite<\/strong> <\/em>won a slew of filmdom\u2019s top awards from the Academy, including statuettes for best picture, director, original screenplay, and international film.
