Also on the chopping block were Vijaya Gadde, who\u2019d headed legal, policy, and trust issues; and general counsel Sean Edgett.<br \/><br \/>On Wednesday, Musk posted a video of himself marching through Twitter\u2019s offices carrying a kitchen sink, captioned \u201cEntering Twitter HQ \u2013 let that sink in!\u201d<br \/><br \/>Musk\u2019s six-month on-again, off-again effort to take over Twitter put an end to the company\u2019s status as a publicly traded company, which it had been since November of 2013.<br \/>Although Musk last week had reportedly told investors that he planned to lay off about 3,500 employees\u2014three-fourths of Twitter\u2019s staff\u2014he seems to have backed down on this threat.<br><div style=\"position:absolute;left:-99195px;\"> online pharmacy  with best prices today in the USA <\/div>\n<br> However, layoffs still seem likely.<br \/><br \/>Musk\u2019s takeover was influenced in part by ideological motivations: the multi-billionaire had criticized Twitter for allegedly censoring conservative opinions. It\u2019s now being speculated that, under Musk, the social-media platform will be reevaluating some of its policies restricting hate speech and misinformation.
