As we know that the biggest franchise \u201cFast and Furious<\/strong>\u201d is set to end with the upcoming two-part finale. Now, a studio chief of Universal Pictures, Donna Langley revealed in the interview with Business Insider<\/a> that she\u2019s quite open to a female-led spin-off of the \u201cFast and Furious<\/strong>\u201d franchise.<\/p>\n

She said, \u201cI would love to see a female \u2018Fast\u2019. So would Vin [Diesel]. We have so many great and amazing female characters in our franchise, and now there\u2019s the new addition of Brie Larson to add to the incredible roster. I would love to see us do a female \u2018Fast.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Rumors have circulated for a few years about a potential spinoff spotlighting the various actresses of the franchise, including Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Charlize Theron. Helen Mirren and Nathalie Emmanuel. Oscar-winner Brie Larson will join the cast with the tenth entry. Vin Diesel announced in 2019 via the comments section on Instagram that screenwriters Nicole Perlman, Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet were being tasked with penning the female spinoff, but there\u2019s never been an official studio greenlight to the project.<\/p>\n

Some of the cast have teased a female spinoff set in the “Fast & Furious<\/strong>” franchise in recent years.\u201cThe girls need a spin off,\u201d franchise mainstay Ludacris said in 2021 during a\u00a0SiriusXM Town Hall<\/a>. \u201cThat\u2019s what needs a spin off. All the bad ass, kick ass women that are in this film, that\u2019s who deserves it.\u201d Brewster, whose been with the \u201cFast\u201d franchise since its original installment, added in the same interview, \u201cThat would be awesome. I\u2019ve heard those rumors. I think that would be incredible. Think about all the people we could bring back, right? We could bring back Eva Mendes, who\u2019d be incredible to work with.\u201d<\/p>\n

The main run of the franchise is set to end with the upcoming two-part finale that kicks off with the Louis Leterrier-directed and $300 million-budgeted \u201cFast X<\/strong>\u201d which was shot across London, Rome, Turin, Lisbon, and Los Angeles and wrapped in August.<\/p>\n

Larson isn\u2019t the only Oscar-winning female actor joining the \u201cFast\u201d franchise in its upcoming 10th installment. Rita Moreno is also set to appear in the sequel, which Universal will release in theaters on May 19, 2023. That\u2019s not expected to be the end of the franchise, with more spin-offs like \u201cHobbs & Shaw\u201d expected to happen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
