A Boy George movie is moving ahead, pivoting from MGM to Millennium Media. Its working title is Karma Chameleon<\/em>, and the film will begin shooting this summer in Europe, as reported by Deadline<\/a>. George himself dropped many hints about what performers could be involved in the project, but one thing is very clear: this film has the full support of the artist, best known as the lead singer of Culture Club.<\/p>\n

What has already been confirmed is that Sacha Gervasi, whose previous credits include Hitchcock<\/em> and My Dinner with Herv<\/em>\u00e9<\/em>, is on board as writer and director of the film. Kevin King Templeton and Paul Kemsley will produce, while Gervasi\u2019s wife Jessica de Rothschild will executive produce along with George.<\/p>\n

Casting director Kate Ringsell has already joined the production.<\/p>\n

A search for the right actor to play George is underway. In a conversation<\/a> with guest shot Ranvir Singh on Lorraine<\/em>, George teased, \u201cThere\u2019s going to be an announcement very soon so I can\u2019t tell you too much, but it\u2019s really exciting.\u201d He reacted positively to the suggestion that Sophie Turner, the actress best known for playing Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones<\/em>, could play George, and Harry Styles was another possibility put forward by Singh. George has also said that Daniel Mays might play his father and that \u201cthere are rumours of Keanu Reeves popping in.\u201d<\/p>\n

The move to Millennium, which recently put out films like The Outpost<\/em> and the upcoming The Hitman\u2019s Wife\u2019s Bodyguard<\/em>, means the production is gearing up and we should expect more information to emerge as shooting approaches. The company is already preparing to pre-sell the film at the pre-festival Cannes film market, March\u00e9 du Film, this summer.<\/p>\n
