Another visually impressive trailer from James Cameron’s “Avater : The Way of Water<\/strong>”\u00a0has arrived in honor of “Avatar Day,” during Monday Night Football on ESPN. It promises a visual spectacle that aims to surpass its 2009 predecessor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Avatar: The Way of Water<\/strong>” is set more than a decade after the first film and brings back characters from the original, including Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), Neytiri (Zoe Salda\u00f1a), Sigourney Weaver (playing a new character, Kiri), Stephen Lang (Miles Quaritch), the film will also star Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, and Kate Winslet.\u00a0With a reported $250 million budget, “Avatar: The Way of Water”<\/strong>\u00a0is one of the most expensive films of all time.<\/p>\n

The trailer opens with Na’vi flying on top of winged creatures, and it\u2019s also capturing the stunning look of a resort-worthy water world. But when robotic intruders apparently march onto the Na’vi’s shores, the Na’vi now face new dangers and must fight to keep each other safe.<\/p>\n

2009’s “Avata<\/strong>r” is the highest grossing film of all time, having made more than $2.9 billion at the global box office. It was nominated for nine Academy Awards and won three, including best cinematography, production design and visual effects. “Avatar” is available to stream on Disney+ now.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
