Crunchyroll made an announcement to release Makoto Shinkai’s latest film,\u00a0<\/span>Suzume<\/i><\/b>, the latest fantasy adventure anime from\u00a0“Your Name”\u00a0<\/i><\/span>and\u00a0“Weathering With You” <\/span>director Makoto Shinkai, will be released in US and UK theaters on April 14.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Crunchyroll is teaming up with Sony Pictures Entertainment, Wild Bunch International and Eurozoom to release the film, which just opened in Japan on November 11,\u00a0As of December 5th<\/span>, the film has earned 7.5\u00a0million yen in the Japanese box office. Make your calendar for your local release dates.<\/p>\n

April 12<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>in France and Malta<\/p>\n

April 13<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>in Australia, Brazil, Germany, Mexico and New Zealand<\/p>\n

April 14<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Gibraltar, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Kingdom and United States<\/p>\n

Additional 2023 dates to be announced for additional Latin America and EMEA territories<\/p>\n

Shinkai directs and leads the screenplay for the film, with Masayoshi Tanaka returning as Character Designer, Kenichi Tsuchiya as Animation Director, Takumi Tanji as Art Director, with animation production at CoMix Wave Films<\/p>\n

“Suzume”<\/i><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>is Shinkai\u2019s 13th directorial works, following\u00a0“<\/span>Weathering with You”<\/i><\/b>\u00a0release in 2019. Shinkai\u2019s earlier works also include\u00a0<\/span>Your Name.<\/i><\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>The Garden of Words<\/i><\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>Children Who Chase Lost Voices<\/i><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>5 Centimeters per Second<\/i><\/b>.<\/p>\n

Suzume\u2019s journey begins in a quiet town in Kyushu (located in southwestern Japan) when she encounters a young man who tells her, \u201cI\u2019m looking for a door.<\/p>\n
