Just days after we reported<\/a> that a Boy George movie is the latest musician-centric project to try to follow in the success of Bohemian Rhapsody<\/em> and Rocketman<\/em>, the word is out that KISS is getting the same treatment, and it looks like Netflix is going to be making it. Deadline<\/a> shares that details are being ironed out for the streamer to make Shout It Out Loud<\/em>, which will cover the origins of the band and be directed by Joachim R\u00f8nning, who has helmed Oscar-nominated films like Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man\u2019s Chest<\/em>, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil<\/em>, and Kon-Tiki<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The band is on board with this project, and Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are set to have their own stories told from their youthful beginnings in Queens to their formation of the immortal group with guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss.<\/p>\n

Simmons and Stanley will serve as producers, along with R\u00f8nning and band manager Doc McGhee. The film is a coproduction of Mark Canton\u2019s Atmosphere Entertainment and Universal Music Group, with Courtney Solomon, David Blackman, and Jody Gerson producing through Universal and Leigh Ann Burton producing for Opus 7. Dorothy Canton and David Hopwood from Atmosphere are attached as executive producers.<\/p>\n

Just as Rocketman<\/em> was boosted by its subject Elton John\u2019s active involvement and promotion of the film, including its Oscar-winning song, I\u2019m Gonna Love Me Again<\/em>, this film is likely to benefit from the band\u2019s continued performances. Their \u201cEnd of the Road Tour\u201d is set to resume this fall and will put the band back in the spotlight as production begins. Their legacy speaks for itself, with over 100 million records sold and a placement in the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame in 2014.<\/p>\n

Shout It Out Loud<\/em> is among the band’s most well-known songs, along with I Was Made for Lovin’ You,<\/em> Detroit Rock City<\/em>, Heaven’s On Fire<\/em>, Rock ‘n Roll All Nite<\/em>, and many others.<\/p>\n
