50 Cent is working on adapting the Oscar-winning musical film, 8 Mile<\/em><\/strong>, into a television series. While making an appearance on Big Boy TV<\/a><\/em>, the Power<\/em><\/strong> producer shared the news that he’s collaborating with\u00a0Eminem<\/a> to turn the latter’s semi-autobiographical 2002 movie into a small screen show.<\/p>\n

“I’m gonna bring his 8 Mile<\/em><\/strong> to television. We’re in motion,” 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, revealed during the interview.<\/p>\n

The Grammy Award-winning rapper also promised that the television series is “gonna be big. I ain’t got no duds. I’m battin’ a hundred, I’m battin’ a hundred,” he also promised.<\/p>\n

The Grammy Award-winning hip-hop star added that it took very little convincing for his fellow rapper to agree to work on the television show. 50 Cent said he told Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers: “I think it should be there for his legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it.”<\/p>\n

50 Cent went on to teased that the 8 Mile<\/em><\/strong> television series would provide a backstory and showcase Eminem’s younger years. However, the In da Club<\/strong><\/em> singer also said that the show won’t be an exact copy of the film, and compared the series to the reimagined Fresh Prince of Bel-Air<\/em><\/strong> reboot that aired last year on Peacock<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“I wanna be able to show and offer a lot more details – things that you would say in an interview or different things that you’ve already used that you put out there and stuff like that,” 50 Cent revealed.<\/p>\n

8 Mile<\/strong><\/em> features Eminem in a role that’s loosely based on his life and rise to stardom. He plays Jimmy, a white rapper that uses the stage name B-Rabbit as he embarks on a journey to launch his hip-hop career in Detroit.<\/p>\n

Besides Eminem, the big screen drama also stars Kim Basinger, Brittany Murphy, Mekhi Phifer, Michael Shannon and Anthony Mackie. 8 Mile<\/strong><\/em> was directed by Curtis Hanson.<\/p>\n

The movie became a commercial and critical hit upon its theatrical release in the fall of 2002. It earned $242.9 million global box office, against a budget of $41 million. Eminem went on to win the trophy for Best Original Song for Lose Yourself<\/strong><\/em> at the 2003 Academy Awards.<\/p>\n

Besides the 8 Mile<\/strong><\/em> television series adaptation, it was also recently revealed that the Emmy Award-winning 50 Cent is expanding the BMF<\/em><\/strong> universe with three spinoffs in the works at Starz.<\/p>\n
