The two developed a friendship, and when Larroquette moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career in 1973, Hooper asked him to narrate the iconic film that was then in development.<\/p>\r\n<p>Like many other films of that era and genre, <em><strong>The Texas Chain Saw Massacre<\/strong><\/em> was produced on a low budget\u2014less than $140,000. It has since become part of a lucrative franchise that over the years spawned nine films as well as comic books and video games. Because of its graphic images, the film was banned in a number of countries in Europe and Latin America.<br \/><br \/>Larroquette provided narration for several of the later films in the <em><strong>Massacre<\/strong> <\/em>franchise, including the most recent one, released in February of 2022. The actor later starred as Dan Fielding in <em><strong>Night Court<\/strong><\/em> and <em><strong>The Librarians<\/strong><\/em>.
