John Williams, the legendary film composer behind some of the most recognized movie themes of all time such films as “Star Wars<\/strong>,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark<\/strong>,” “Superman<\/strong>,” “Jaws<\/strong>”\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0“Harry Potter<\/strong>.” And now, he would be the <\/i>subject of a feature-length documentary, with his longtime collaborator Steven Spielberg.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Amblin Television, Imagine Documentaries and Nedland Media are in early stages of production of a documentary which is directed by Laurent Bouzereau. Bouzereau whose credits include “Five Came Back<\/i><\/strong>,” “Natalie Wood: What Remains Behind<\/strong>“<\/i> and “Mama\u2019s Boy: A Story From Our Americas<\/i><\/strong>.” He is also a longtime director of \u201cmaking of\u201d and behind-the-scenes featurettes, producing several hundred of them since the 1990s, including dozens for Spielberg movies. \u00a0Spielberg is executive producer along with Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, Justin Wilkes, Sara Bernstein and Meredith Kaulfers.<\/p>\n

He began his career working on hundreds of episodes of television in the early days of network broadcasting, composing music for the pilot episode of Gilligan\u2019s Island and Lost in Space. He also created themes for NBC Nightly News, NBC\u2019s Meet the Press.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In his career which has spanned almost seven decades, he has won 25 Grammy Awards, seven British Academy Film Awards, Five Academy Awards and Four Golden Globe Awards, and with 52 Academy Award nominations, he is the second most-nominated individual, after Walt Disney.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Williams, now 90, was expected to retire after finishing “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny<\/i><\/strong>,” which is directed by James Mangold. But at a talk with Spielberg on stage earlier this month, Williams surprised his longtime collaborator by saying that he no longer planned on retiring after the next\u00a0Indiana Jones\u00a0film. Spielberg sums up their 50-year relationship as like an ideal marriage. \u201cI don\u2019t think we\u2019ve ever had a disagreement,\u201d he said, adding with a chuckle, \u201cI mean, what am I going to do? Sit down and write the music myself?\u201d<\/p>\n
