There\u2019s something very sweet about bringing a baby into the world, but the way in which it\u2019s typically portrayed both in cinema and in society is that it\u2019s an entirely positive experience. For many, it\u2019s a very difficult process filled with agony and an inability to keep up with everything that\u2019s going on.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s an important perspective that filmmaker Bess Wohl, in her directorial debut, felt she needed to share in Baby Ruby<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I had the chance to speak with Wohl about her own inspirations for this film \u2013 which she clarifies is not autobiographical \u2013 and whether she would want expectant mothers and her own children to watch it. We also discussed the casting of stars No\u00e9mie Merlant and Kit Harington in the lead roles.<\/p>\n

BABY RUBY tells the story of Jo, a successful lifestyle entrepreneur who is happily pregnant, awaiting the arrival of her first child.
