On Thursday, Apple Original Films dropped the jam-packed trailer for “Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie<\/strong>.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The film, which incorporates documentary, archival and scripted elements, recounts Fox\u2019s extraordinary story in his own words \u2014 the improbable tale of an undersized kid from a Canadian army base who rose to the heights of stardom in 1980s Hollywood. The account of Fox\u2019s public life, full of nostalgic thrills and cinematic gloss, unspools alongside his never-before-seen private journey, including the years that followed his diagnosis, at twenty-nine, with Parkinson\u2019s disease. Intimate and honest, and produced with unprecedented access to Fox and his family, the film chronicles Fox\u2019s personal and professional triumphs and travails, and explores what happens when an incurable optimist confronts an incurable disease. With a mix of adventure and romance, comedy and drama, watching the film feels like\u2026 well, like a Michael J. Fox movie.<\/p>\n

In this trailer for the new documentary “Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie<\/strong>,”T<\/strong><\/i>he Back to the Future”<\/i><\/strong> actor went through his triumphant rise to blockbuster fame — “I was bigger than bubblegum,” he says —\u00a0the trailer turns toward his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis at 29 years old.\u00a0 “‘In sickness and in health’\u00a0I remember her whispering,” he says\u00a0of his wife Tracy Pollan after his diagnosis.\u00a0 But, as Fox has demonstrated in the decades since, he refuses to let the disease debilitate him and has become a fierce advocate for anyone with it.\u00a0 “I’m a tough son of a b**ch,” he says in the trailer.<\/p>\n

Directed by Davis Guggenheim, produced by Guggenheim, Annetta Marion, Will Cohen and Jonathan King, exec producers Laurene Powell Jobs, Jonathan Silberberg, Nicole Stott, and Nelle Fortenberry. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and got all the positive reviews.\u00a0“<\/span>Still: A Michael J.
