In a recent interview with <em>Deadline<\/em>, the show\u2019s creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage described their plans for the series.<br \/><br \/>According to Schwartz, it\u2019s more likely that his <em><strong>Gossip Girl<\/strong> <\/em>show would be streamed than <em><strong>The O.C.<\/strong> <\/em>He was quoted as saying: \u201cI think we\u2019re not going to [stream <em><strong>The O.C.<\/strong><\/em>] You know, we were producers on this <em><strong>Gossip Girl<\/strong><\/em> reboot that ran for a couple of seasons on HBO Max.&#8221;<br \/><br \/>Schwartz added: \u201cAnd I think <em><strong>The O.C.<\/strong><\/em> was really just kind of specific to these characters, and it feels like we made something, we\u2019re really grateful that 20 years later, people are still watching the show and still want to talk about the show. And we\u2019re just going to leave it right there.\u201d<br \/><br \/><em><strong>The O.C.<\/strong><\/em>, which debuted in 2003 and ran for four seasons on Fox, starred Peter Gallagher, Kelly Rowen, Ben McKenzie, Mischa Barton, and Adam Brody, among others. Focusing on the lives and loves of a group of teenagers in California\u2019s Orange County, the series became a pop-culture phenomenon. <em><strong>Gossip Girl<\/strong><\/em> was aired in 121 episodes from 2007 to 2013. Starring Blake Lively, it narrated the story of a group of privileged students at a posh Manhattan girl&#8217;s school who were being stalked online by an anonymous blogger. It was based on a novel series by Cecily von Ziegesar.<br \/><br \/>Schwartz and Savage\u2019s latest project is <em><strong>City on Fire<\/strong><\/em>, a limited series for Apple TV+ that premiered in May. Based on the 2015 novel by Garth Risk Hallberg originally set in the 1970s, the new Apple+ series turns its gaze on New York City after a hip clubster, Samantha Yeung (played by Chase Sui Wonders) is shot in Central Park.
