It\u2019s unclear when the duo will be officially introduced, given the uncertainties surrounding a possible SAG-AFTRA stike on June 30. Warner Bros has still not said whether it will be attending Comic-Con in San Diego in July.<br \/><br \/><em><strong>Superman: Legacy<\/strong><\/em> will focus on Clark Kent\u2019s effort to reconcile his origins both on Krypton and in Smallville, Kansas, his earthly birthplace. Now that the two lead roles have been filled, the studio\u2019s next task is to cast Superman\u2019s arch-nemesis Lex Luthor as well as <em>Daily Planet<\/em> cub reporter Jimmy Olsen. <br \/><br \/>Gunn, who directed such action films as <em><strong>Guardian of the Galaxy, The Suicide Squad<\/strong><\/em>, and <em><strong>Peacemaker<\/strong><\/em>, will be directing <em><strong>Superman: Legacy<\/strong> <\/em>from his own screenplay. The film will be produced by Safran, who worked on the <em><strong>Aquaman<\/strong> <\/em>and <em><strong>The Conjuring<\/strong><\/em>. According to plans, the new Superman flick will be released worldwide on July 11, 2025.<br \/><br \/>This would be Corenswet\u2019s breakthrough in a major studio film. He\u2019d previously been seen in <em><strong>Pearl, The Politician,<\/strong><\/em> and <em><strong>We Own This City.<\/strong><\/em> Corenswet also starred in the web comedy series <em><strong>Moe &amp; Jerryweather<\/strong><\/em>, which he wrote and directed, and will soon be seen opposite Natalie Portman in Apple TV+\u2019s <strong>The Lady in the Lake<\/strong>. He will inherit the cape and tights (figuratively speaking) previously worn by Henry Cavill, who had played Superman in the 2013 film<em><strong> Man of Steel<\/strong><\/em>. Brosnahan had achieved plaudits\u2014including an Emmy\u2014for her role in Amazon\u2019s <em><strong>T<\/strong><strong><em>h<\/em>e Marvelous Mrs Maisel<\/strong><\/em>.
