The upcoming film, directed by Joachim Ronning from a script by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorn, will star Jared Leto. It is scheduled to begin shooting in Vancouver this summer.<br \/><br \/>Lee will play the female lead, a video-game programmer and co-head of a global technology company. It\u2019s not yet known what role Turner-Smith will be playing, but press reports speculate that it will be \u201csignificant.\u201d <br \/><br \/>The daughter of Korean immigrant parents, Greta Lee is known for her breakout role in A24\u2019s<em><strong> Past Lives<\/strong> <\/em>in addition to her performances in <em><strong>Russian Doll<\/strong><\/em> and <strong>The Morning Show<\/strong>. Lee also voiced the two <em><strong>Spider-Verse<\/strong> <\/em>films. Of Jamaican ancestry, the British-born Turner-Smith has appeared in <em><strong>The Neon Demon, Queen &amp; Slim,<\/strong><\/em> and <strong><em>After Yang<\/em><\/strong>, and will soon be seen in <em><strong>The Acolyte,<\/strong> <\/em>a Disney+ Star Wars series. Turner-Smith also is <br \/>credited for voicing the character of Lyla in <em><strong>Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.<br \/><\/strong><\/em> <br \/>Joachim Ronning, who will be directing <em><strong>Tron: ARES<\/strong><\/em>, has several directorial projects to his credit, including <strong>Maleficent: Mistress of Evil<\/strong> and <em><strong>Kon-Tiki<\/strong><\/em>. He also co-directed<em><strong> Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.<br \/><\/strong><\/em><br \/>While details of the plot are being kept under wraps, The Hollywood Reporter has indicated that the story revolves around Ares, a digital entity who has emerged into the real world. This is in keeping with the storyline in the earlier <em><strong>Tron<\/strong> <\/em>movies, which starred Jeff Bridges in the lead role. <br \/><br \/>The 1982 original, which has become a cult classic, was directed by Steven Lisberger.<em><strong> Tron: Legacy<\/strong><\/em>, the 2010 reboot, was directed by Joseph Kosinski and included a score by Daft Punk.
