The Oscar winning writer from \u201cPromising Young Woman<\/strong>,\u201d director Emerald Fennell’s highly anticipated sophomore attempt, \u201cSaltburn<\/strong>\u201d will open the 67th BFI London Film Festival\u00a0in October.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The film is written and directed by Fennell who teamed up again with Margot Robbie\u00a0to produce the film as well as Josey McNamara (\u201cPromising Young Woman<\/strong>,\u201d \u201cBarbie\u201d<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

The project, which stars Euphoria’<\/strong>s Jacob Elordi and The Banshees of Inisherin<\/i><\/strong>‘s Barry Keoghan<\/b>, is set to arrive in theaters on November 24, 2023.<\/p>\n

Sunburn will tell the story of a beautifully wicked tale of privilege and desire. Struggling to find his place at Oxford University, student Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) finds himself drawn into the world of the charming and aristocratic Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi), who invites him to Saltburn, his eccentric family\u2019s sprawling estate, for a summer never to be.<\/p>\n

The film is the long-awaited follow-up project for Fennell, whose 2020 film “Promising Young Woman” <\/i><\/strong>has\u00a0captured an\u00a0essence of\u00a0<\/i>\u00a0for its subversive commentary on trauma and sexual violence against women. She won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the project.<\/p>\n
