The completely independent, all South African production Death of a Whistleblower<\/em><\/strong> tells a story that spans generations of South African history and looks at the coercive, sinister methods employed by those who wish to remain in power above all else. It\u2019s also a tight thriller that, according to those involved, emphasizes entertainment along with its depiction of an important facet of its nation\u2019s identity.<\/p>\n

I had the chance to speak with director Ian Gabriel and six members of the cast \u2013 Noxolo Dlamini, Irshaad Ally, Kathleen Stephens, Anthony Oseyemi, Inez Robertson, and S\u2019thandiwe Kgoroge \u2013 about being part of this film, what it means to be able to tell stories like this, and their excitement about it making its debut in Toronto.<\/p>\n
