A24 has unveiled the second official trailer for its highly anticipated biographical film, Priscilla<\/em><\/strong><\/a>. The upcoming drama features a new insight into the thrilling courtship and tumultuous marriage between Priscilla Beaulieu and Elvis Presley.<\/p>\n

The latest biopic about rock and roll’s biggest superstar is told entirely from the perspective of Priscilla Beaulieu (later Presley), who met Elvis in 1959 when she was 14 and he was 24. Priscilla<\/em><\/strong>‘s second trailer, which was released today, highlights the true story of Priscilla’s journey from having a thrilling teenage crush on, to having a turbulent marriage to, Elvis.<\/p>\n

Cailee Spaeny plays the titular character, while Jacob Elordi portrays Elvis, in the movie. Priscilla<\/em><\/strong> is based on the 1985 memoir Elvis and Me<\/em><\/strong>, which was written by Priscilla and Sandra Harmon. The screen adaptation was penned and directed by Sofia Coppola.<\/p>\n

Priscilla<\/em><\/strong> was produced by Lorenzo Mieli for The Apartment Pictures, a Fremantle Company; Coppola for American Zoetrope; and Youree Henley. The film was financed by Fremantle Group.<\/p>\n

The biopic follows a teenage Priscilla Beaulieu as she meets Elvis Presley at a party.<\/p>\n

The musician, who is already a meteoric rock-and-roll superstar, becomes someone entirely unexpected in private moments: a thrilling crush, an ally in loneliness and a vulnerable best friend.<\/p>\n

Through Priscilla’s eyes, Coppola tells the unseen side of a great American myth in Elvis and Priscilla’s long courtship and turbulent marriage.<\/p>\n

The movie’s deeply felt and ravishingly detailed portrait of love, fantasy and fame highlights a 13-span in their relationship.<\/p>\n

The screen adaptation starts from when the couple met on a German army base. The story then extends to Priscilla and Elvis living together on his dream-world estate at Graceland, where they raised their daughter, the late Lisa Marie Presley, and them eventually deciding to divorce.<\/p>\n

Priscilla<\/strong><\/em> had its World Premiere at the Venice International Film Festival, where Spaeny won the best actress trophy, and Coppola was nominated for the Golden Lion. The feature will also screen as the Centerpiece Selection of the New York Film Festival. A24 will distribute the drama in the U.S. on November 3.<\/p>\n
