A recent article in <em>The Wrap<\/em> quoted a knowledgeable source as saying that the company is in the process of \u201cdeemphasizing the traditional character\/auteur-driven dramas\u201d in its search for more \u201caction and IP projects.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p>However, another unnamed A24 insider challenged this assessment, saying that the studio wasn\u2019t going to jettison its traditional emphasis on \u201cauteur-driven\u201d films, though it would be \u201cwidening the aperture\u201d by focusing on more commercial projects.<br \/><br \/>The <em>Wrap<\/em> article also quoted a distribution executive as saying that \u201cEveryone in the independent film space is aware that A24 needs to pivot to more commercial films alongside its arthouse slate.
