Chris Hemsworth<\/a>, and Miller were also present to preview the high-octane movie revving towards theaters in the new year.<\/p>\nThe studio unveiled a first look at its star, Anya Taylor-Joy, as Furiosa, a younger version of the badass character portrayed by Charlize Theron in Fury Road.<\/i> Joining her for the ride are Chris Hemsworth and Tom Burke, the latter having been cast as a replacement for Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who had to bow out over scheduling conflicts.<\/p>\n
The film marks the fifth big-screen entry in Miller\u2019s Mad Max franchise. It serves as a spin-off and prequel to 2015\u2019s “Mad Max : Fury Road<\/strong>.” That film starred Charlize Theron as Furiosa opposite Tom Hardy as Max Rockatansky, Nicholas Hoult as Nux, and the late Hugh Keays-Byrne as Immortan Joe.<\/p>\nHere\u2019s the logline: As the world fell, young Furiosa (Taylor-Joy) is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus.\u00a0Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe.\u00a0 While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.<\/p>\n
Miller directs Furiosa from a screenplay he co-wrote with Nico Lathouris.
