{"id":21192,"date":"2023-12-28T12:49:41","date_gmt":"2023-12-28T17:49:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?p=21192"},"modified":"2023-12-28T12:49:41","modified_gmt":"2023-12-28T17:49:41","slug":"obama-shares-his-top-10-films-of-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?p=21192","title":{"rendered":"Barack Obama Shares His Top 10 Films of 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>@The Oprah Conversation<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p1\">Former United States President Barack Obama isn\u2019t just a great leader, but also he has done great works through his film production, <a href=\"https:\/\/highergroundmedia.com\/\">Higher Ground<\/a> by producing three remarkable films that his label helped produce this year \u2013 the acclaimed Colman Domingo-led biopic \u201cRustin,\u201d the Julia Roberts and Mahershala Ali-led end of world thriller \u201cLeave the World Behind\u201d and the musician documentary \u201cAmerican Symphony\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p1\">\u201cI\u2019m biased since these movies were produced by Higher Ground, but these are in fact three of the best movies I saw this year,\u201d Obama wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p1\">Now, he announced his annual tradition of Top 10 films of 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p1\">He released a list of ten other films he considers the year\u2019s best: Alexander Payne&#8217;s school drama \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?s=the+holdovers\"><strong>The Holdovers<\/strong><\/a>,\u201d Matt Johnson\u2019s corporate biopic \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?s=Blackberry\"><strong>Blackberry<\/strong><\/a>,\u201d Christopher Nolan\u2019s depiction of father of atomic bomb, \u201c<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?s=oppenheimer+\">Oppenheimer<\/a>,<\/strong>\u201d Cord Jefferson\u2019s Black Cultural satire,<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?s=american+fiction\"><strong>American Fiction<\/strong><\/a>,\u201d Justine Triet\u2019s French courtroom thriller,\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?s=Anatomy+of+a+Fall\"><strong>Anatomy of a Fall<\/strong><\/a>,\u201d Hirokazu Kore-eda\u2019s three structures \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?s=monster\"><strong>Monster<\/strong><\/a>,\u201d Celine Song\u2019s romance, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?s=Past+Lives\"><strong>Past Lives<\/strong><\/a>,\u201d Ben Affleck&#8217;s Nike drama \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?s=Air\"><strong>Air<\/strong><\/a>,\u201d Nida Manzoor\u2019s action-comedy, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?s=Polite+Society\"><strong>Polite Society<\/strong><\/a>\u201d and \u201cA.V. Rockwell\u2019s family drama, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?s=A+Thousand+and+One\"><strong>A Thousand and One<\/strong><\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p1\">Notable omissions from Obama\u2019s list include &#8220;<strong>Barbie<\/strong>,&#8221; &#8220;<strong>Killers of the Flower Moon<\/strong>,&#8221; &#8221; <strong><i>Poor Things<\/i><\/strong>,&#8221; &#8220;<strong>Maestro&#8221; <\/strong>and &#8220;<i><strong>The Color Purple<\/strong>.&#8221;\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p1\">Obama has shared a list of his favorite films every year since 2018, his first full year out of office. Obama Obama also mentioned the strikes that dominated entertainment headlines this year, saying: \u201cEarlier this year, writers and actors went on strike to advocate for better working conditions and protections. It led to important changes that will transform the industry for the better.
