A new project, starring Kathryn Newton, Cole Sprouse, Liza Soberano, Henry Eikenberry, Joe Chrest and Carla Gugino.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Here\u2019s the synopsis : The film is &#8220;a coming of RAGE love story&#8221;\u2026Set in 1980\u2019s, about a misunderstood teenager(Kathryn Newton) and her high school crush, who happens to be a handsome corpse(Cole Sprouse). After a set of playfully horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness\u2026 and a few missing body parts along the way.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The latest project marks the first film with a Cody script in five years, the last being \u201c<strong>Tully<\/strong>\u201d.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"> \u00a0<\/span>Mason Novick and Cody produce.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The trailer captured the flair of \u201980s which is on full display, plus some of memorable lines from Newton and Sprouse giving an unexpectedly full-bodied performance as the seemingly voice-less creature. The new footage also shows her attempts at reanimating a handsome Victorian corpse and rebuilding him into her dream date, by uusing her broken tanning bed. The trailer reminded me of &#8220;Warm Bodies&#8221; which is also a more unconventional love story for the season of romance. It\u2019s awkwardly cute.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Williams has spent a few years preparing her directing chops, by helming some of the music videos to short films, and it seems her sensibility is a strong match for Cody\u2019s unique voice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Focus Features will release the film in theaters on Friday, February 9, just in time for Valentine\u2019s Day, adding to a stacked line-up of titles for the month led by Matthew Vaughn&#8217;s &#8220;<strong>Argylle<\/strong>.&#8221; The competition will be fierce at the theater as Valentine&#8217;s Day will see <strong>Madame We<\/strong>b, <strong><i>Bob Marley: One Love<\/i><\/strong>, and <strong><i>Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2<\/i><\/strong>, while Ethan Coen&#8217;s much-anticipated solo outing <strong><i>Drive-Away Dolls.<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Focus Features has dropped a full-length trailer for the Diablo Cody-penned new horror comedy \u201cLisa Frankenstein\u201d which is set to open exclusively in cinemas on February 9th.
