The first move in the threesome, which has already been completed, is titled <em><strong>School Fight<\/strong><\/em>. It was produced by Vaughn and directed by Damien Walter.<br \/><br \/>As Vaughn explained to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/collider.com\/kick-ass-3-reboot\/\">Collider<\/a> <\/em>in an exclusive interview: \u201cThe trilogy will be <strong><em>School Fight<\/em><\/strong>, this movie \u2014 let\u2019s call it <em><strong>Vram<\/strong> <\/em>for the time being \u2014 and then [the] <em><strong>Kick-Ass<\/strong><\/em> [reboot], and they\u2019re all connected.\u201d<br \/><br \/>It\u2019s been fourteen years since fans were treated to the first film in the <em><strong>Kick-Ass<\/strong><\/em> franchise. The original movie had been released in 2010, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Mark Strong, <a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/news\/actress-chloe-grace-moretz-would-do-more-kick-ass-if-everyone-came-back\/\">Chlo\u00eb Grace Moretz<\/a>, and Nicholas Cage. Vaughn produced a sequel in 2013, directed by Jeff Wadlow. It\u2019s being speculated that Taylor-Johnson and Moretz will likely not be cast in the new film, however.<br \/><br \/>The <em><strong>Kick-Ass<\/strong><\/em> concept was originally developed as a comic series by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. It portrays the exploits of Dave Lizewski, a teenager with superhero ambitions who joins forces with Hit-Girl, a young woman with an equal passion for fighting crime.<br \/><br \/>Vaughn was quoted by <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/movies\/director-matthew-vaughn-teases-kick-ass-reboot-kingsman-3\/\"><em>Entertainment Weekly<\/em><\/a> in October as saying that the reboot was underway: \u201c<em><strong>Kick-Ass<\/strong><\/em> changed people\u2019s perception of what a superhero film is. We\u2019re doing it again. None of the other characters from the other <em><strong>Kick-Ass<\/strong><\/em> are in it, though we\u2019d like to have them back after the reboot. I can\u2019t really talk about it, but it\u2019s fun!\u201d<br \/><br \/>According to Vaughn, the upcoming <em><strong>Kick-Ass<\/strong><\/em> movie will be set in what he called \u201ca very, very, meta-universe\u201d that is \u201cgonna be a clich\u00e9 coming out of this head of mine.\u201d He reiterated his assertion that the <em><strong>Kick-Ass<\/strong><\/em> films were \u201creinventing and creating an R-rated superhero\u201d that no one else was doing. <br \/><br \/>Vaughn jokingly told\u00a0 interviewer Maggie Lovitt back in October that he\u2019d \u201cprobably get sued\u201d for the third <strong>Kick-Ass<\/strong> installment because his scriptwriters wrote \u2018something that is so fucking crazy.\u201d<br \/><br \/>Meanwhile, Matthew Vaughn\u2019s next film, an espionage thriller named <strong>Argylle<\/strong>, is scheduled to be released on February 2.<\/p>\r\n<p>Check out more of Edward&#8217;s articles<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Photo Credit Lionsgate\u00a0 Matthew Vaughn has revealed that his new Kick-Ass film, already in production, is going to be the third installment in a new trilogy.
