Buckley is noted for her portrayal of Oraetta Mayflower in the <em><strong>Fargo<\/strong> <\/em>TV series.<br \/><br \/>The 27-year-old Mescal was quoted in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.co.uk\/article\/paul-mescal-interview-all-of-us-strangers\"><em>British Vogue<\/em><\/a> as saying: \u201cThat book \u2013 it\u2019s just devastating. I can\u2019t wait. If I told a younger version of myself that this would be [shooting] this year, I wouldn\u2019t believe it. I\u2019ve obviously been in a film with Jessie before but we\u2019ve never shared the screen or a working process together. I think she\u2019s one of our present-day greats. And Chlo\u00e9 is somebody I can\u2019t wait to get in the weeds with, and get into the heads of those characters.\u201d<br \/><br \/>Buckley and Mescal had earlier starred together in <strong>The Lost Daughter<\/strong>, a 2023 film directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal. Zhao, who wrote the screenplay for <em><strong>Hamnet<\/strong> <\/em>together with O\u2019Farrell, also directed <em><strong>The Rider, Nomadland<\/strong><\/em>, and <em><strong>Eternals<\/strong><\/em>.<br \/><br \/>According to a synopsis for O\u2019Farrell\u2019s novel, William Shakespeare is described as \u201ca young Latin tutor\u2014penniless and bullied by a violent father\u2014[who] falls in love with an extraordinary, eccentric young woman. Agnes is a wild creature who walks her family\u2019s land with a falcon on her glove and is known throughout the countryside for her unusual gifts as a healer, understanding plants and potions better than she does people.
