J. T. Rogers <\/b>is an American Playwright who lives in New York. <\/sup>Rogers\u2019s plays include\u00a0Oslo<\/a><\/i>,\u00a0Blood and Gifts<\/a><\/i>,\u00a0The Overwhelming<\/i>,\u00a0White People<\/i>, and\u00a0Madagascar<\/i>. In 2017, Rogers’\u00a0Oslo<\/i>\u00a0won the\u00a0Tony Award<\/a> for Best Play, the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play, the Obie Award for Best New American Theatre Work,<\/sup>the Lucile Lortel Award\u00a0for Best Play,<\/sup> the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Broadway Play,\u00a0<\/sup>and the drama League Award for Outstanding Production of a Play. Rogers is the creator, writer and showrunner for the HBO Max television series Tokyo Vice , starring\u00a0Ansel Elgort<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Ken Watanabe.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Alan Mark Poul<\/b><\/a> is an American film and television producer and director. Poul served as\u00a0 Executive Producer for the HBO original series, Six Feet Under<\/a><\/i>, on which he made his directing debut. He directed four episodes of the series from seasons two through five.<\/sup>He later directed the pilot for CBS’ series Swingtown<\/a><\/i>, of which he directed a total of four episodes. He also directed the 2010\u00a0CBS Films<\/a>\u00a0romantic comedy<\/a>\u00a0The Back-Up Plan<\/a><\/i>, originally titled\u00a0Plan B<\/i>.<\/sup><\/p>\n

He signed a new deal with\u00a0HBO<\/a>\u00a0in April 2011. He was an executive producer of\u00a0Aaron Sorkin<\/a>‘s\u00a0The Newsroom<\/a><\/i>.<\/sup> He also directed five episodes of the show in the first two seasons. Poul was an executive producer on Tokyo Vice<\/i>\u00a0and directed its final episode,\u00a0Yoshino.<\/i><\/sup> He is fluent in Japanese.\u00a0<\/sup><\/p>\n

Synopsis<\/strong> : In 1999, American journalist Jake Adelstein has relocated to Tokyo and must pass a written exam in Japanese to have the chance to join the staff of a major Japanese newspaper. He succeeds in becoming their first foreign-born journalist and starts at the very bottom. Taken under the wing of a veteran detective in the vice squad, he starts to explore the dark and dangerous world of the Japanese yakuza.<\/p>\n
