A scream queen, <a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?s=neve+campbell\">Neve Campbell<\/a> will be back as \u201cSidney Prescott\u201d in Scream franchise, she announced her return in the upcoming seventh movie, Campbell posted on Instagram Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In addition to Campbell\u2019s return, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0117571\/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1\"><strong>Scream<\/strong><\/a>\u201d creator and writer Kevin Williamson is taking over as director of \u201c<strong>Scream 7<\/strong>.\u201d He wrote the first, second and fourth \u201c<strong>Scream<\/strong>\u201d movies, and executive produced the 2022 reboot \u201c<strong>Scream<\/strong>\u201d and its sequel \u201c<strong>Scream 6<\/strong>.\u201d Now, scream is back on top form.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Here\u2019s what Williamson said, \u201cIt\u2019s been nearly 30 years since my very first script, \u2018<strong>Scream<\/strong>,\u2019 was directed by the legendary Wes Craven,\u201d Williamson wrote on Instagram. \u201cI never would have predicted what it would become. Or that I would be directing the seventh installment of the franchise. I am overcome with gratitude and excitement, and I can\u2019t wait to take this journey with Neve and the entire \u2018<strong>Scream<\/strong>\u2019 family as we bring back Sidney Prescott in the next chapter of the \u2018Scream\u2019 franchise. Thank you to all the \u2018Scream\u2019 fans. You are the gift that keeps giving.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">After returning in the 2022 reboot \u201c<strong>Scream<\/strong>,\u201d Campbell announced ahead of making \u201c<strong>Scream 6<\/strong>\u201d that salary that offered to he didn\u2019t value her what she have brought to these franchise, and creator Williamson had been outspoken that they should offered more money to Campbell.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Campbell\u2019s return comes after Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, who starred in two previous \u201c<strong>Scream<\/strong>\u201d films, will not return for the seventh movie.\u00a0Barrera was fired from \u201c<strong>Scream 7<\/strong>\u201d last year over social media posts on Israel. Shortly after, this news was posted that Ortega left \u201c<strong>Scream<\/strong> 7\u201d due to her schedule conflict with the second season of \u201cWednesday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Guy Busick, who wrote the fifth and sixth \u201c<strong>Scream<\/strong>\u201d films with James Vanderbilt,\u00a0is taking over the screenwriting reins. Vanderbilt will continue to produce alongside his Project X Entertainment partners William Sherak and Paul Neinstein. The film collective Radio Silence, who directed and produced the previous two \u201c<strong>Scream<\/strong>\u201d films, will serve as executive producers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cIt\u2019s always been such a blast and an honor to get to play Sidney in the \u2018<strong>Scream<\/strong>\u2019 movies. My appreciation for these films and for what they have meant to me, has never waned. I\u2019m very happy and proud to say I\u2019ve been asked, in the most respectful way, to bring Sidney back to the screen and I couldn\u2019t be more thrilled.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The \u201c<strong>Scream<\/strong>\u201d movies make up one of the bestselling horror franchises in history, with the first film \u2013 costarring Drew Barrymore, Courteney Cox and Rose McGowan \u2013 becoming a cultural reference point and inspiration for many horror films to follow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The most recent<b>\u00a0<\/b>installment, set in New York City, Made over $165 million at the box office globally in 2023.
