{"id":22546,"date":"2024-03-20T13:03:17","date_gmt":"2024-03-20T17:03:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?p=22546"},"modified":"2024-03-20T13:03:17","modified_gmt":"2024-03-20T17:03:17","slug":"alien-romulus-teaser-trailer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?p=22546","title":{"rendered":"Alien : Romulus : Teaser Trailer \/ Starring Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Directed by Fede\u00a0Alvarez"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p2\">Disney has dropped a trailer for a highly anticipated new Alien series, \u201c<strong>Alien : Romulus<\/strong>\u201d which opens exclusively in theaters nationwide August 16, 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">The teaser trailer and poster for a truly terrifying cinematic experience from producer Ridley Scott and director\/writer\u00a0Fede Alvarez, the new sci-fi\/horror-thriller takes the\u00a0phenomenally successful\u00a0\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0078748\/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2\"><strong>Alien<\/strong><\/a>\u201d franchise back to its roots.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Set between the events of \u201c<strong>Alien<\/strong>\u201d and \u201c<strong>Aliens<\/strong>,\u201d \u201c<strong>Romulus<\/strong>\u201d follows Ridley Scott\u2019s \u201c<strong>Alien: Covenant<\/strong>\u201d in 2017; that film was part of the prequel offshoot films that started with 2012\u2019s \u201c<strong>Prometheus<\/strong>\u201d and concerned a robot named David (Michael Fassbender) and the evolution of the original alien creature. While a third film was planned, it was ultimately shelved following Disney\u2019s acquisition of the Fox assets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Originally meant to be a Hulu-exclusive film, much like 2022\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0093773\/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1\"><strong>Predator<\/strong><\/a>\u201d prequel \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/reviews\/review-is-prey-the-predator-follow-up-youve-been-waiting-for\/\"><strong>Prey<\/strong><\/a>,\u201d \u201cRomulus\u201d got bumped up to a theatrical release. It was co-written and directed by Uruguayan filmmaker Fede \u00c1lvarez, of \u201c<strong>Don\u2019t Breathe<\/strong>\u201d fame. Rodo Sayagues co-wrote the script while \u00c1lvarez and Scott produced the film alongside Michael Pruss.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">While scavenging\u00a0the deep ends of a derelict space station,\u00a0a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">The film stars Cailee Spaeny (\u201c<strong>Priscilla<\/strong>\u201d), David Jonsson (\u201c<strong>Agatha Christie\u2019s Murder is Easy<\/strong>\u201d), Archie Renaux (\u201c<strong>Shadow and Bone<\/strong>\u201d), Isabela Merced (\u201c<strong>The Last of Us<\/strong>\u201d), Spike Fearn (\u201c<strong>Aftersun<\/strong>\u201d), Aileen Wu.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Fede\u00a0Alvarez\u00a0(\u201c<strong>Evil Dead<\/strong>,\u201d \u201c<strong>Don\u2019t Breathe<\/strong>\u201d) directs from a screenplay he wrote with frequent collaborator Rodo Sayagues (\u201c<strong>Don\u2019t Breathe 2<\/strong>\u201d) based on characters created by Dan O\u2019Bannon and Ronald Shusett.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">\u201cAlien: Romulus\u201d is produced by Ridley Scott (\u201c<strong>Napoleon<\/strong>\u201d), who directed the original \u201cAlien\u201d and produced and directed the series\u2019 entries \u201c<strong>Prometheus<\/strong>\u201d and \u201c<strong>Alien: Covenant<\/strong>,\u201d Michael Pruss (\u201c<strong>Boston Strangler<\/strong>\u201d), and Walter Hill (\u201c<strong>Alien<\/strong>\u201d), with\u00a0Fede Alvarez,\u00a0Elizabeth Cantillon (\u201c<strong>Charlie\u2019s Angels<\/strong>\u201d), Brent O\u2019Connor (\u201c<strong>Bullet Train<\/strong>\u201d), and Tom Moran\u00a0(\u201c<strong>Unstoppable<\/strong>\u201d) serving as executive producers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Disney has dropped a trailer for a highly anticipated new Alien series, \u201cAlien : Romulus\u201d which opens exclusively in theaters nationwide August 16, 2024.
