New and fascinating details have been revealed about Joker : <\/strong><\/span>Folie \u00e0 Deux<\/span><\/strong>, particularly about its soundtrack. <\/span>Variety<\/b><\/a> reported in fact that the long anticipated sequel will contain at least 15 famous cover songs, adapted in order to appeal to contemporary taste. The composer<\/span> Hildur Gu\u00f0nad\u00f3ttir – first woman to win an Academy Award in the category thanks to the first <\/span>Joker <\/b>– is going to add a contemporary and psychologically threatening touch to some of these songs. <\/span>One of them is the well-known \u201c<\/span>That’s Entertainment<\/b>“, contained in one of the most beloved musicals in Hollywood history, <\/span>The Band Wagon<\/b> (1953).<\/span><\/p>\n

What about the presence of original songs? <\/span>Warner Bros hasn\u2019t released any official news about it, but it seems there will be one or two original songs in the movie, most likely performed by <\/span>Lady Gaga<\/b><\/a>. The singer\/actress is going to play the co-protagonista next to <\/span>Joaquin Phoenix<\/b><\/a>, returning in the role of Arthur Fleck\/Joker.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lady Gaga won the Oscar for the best song in 2018 for “<\/span>Shallow“<\/b>\u00a0in <\/span>Bradley Cooper<\/b>\u2019s directorial debut <\/span>A Star Is Born<\/b>, for which she also received a nomination as best leading actress. Only four other artists could achieve the double nominees in the history of Academy Awards.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Joker: Folie \u00e0 Deux<\/b> has a production budget of about 200 millions dollars, more than three times bigger than the original movie (60 millions). In 2018 Joker<\/strong> earned more than 1 billion dollars all over the world, becoming one of the most successful cinecomics of all time. The movie directed by Todd Phillips<\/strong><\/a> won the <\/span>Golden Lion at the<\/span> Venice Film Festival and received 11 Academy Award nominations including best movie and best director, winning as best leading actor and original score.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The cast of <\/span>Joker: Folie \u00e0 Deux<\/b> includes the returning <\/span>Zazie Beetz (<\/span>Atlanta<\/b>, <\/span>Deadpool 2<\/b>), joined by <\/span>Brendan Gleeson (<\/span>Gangs of New York<\/b>, <\/span>The Banshees of Inisherin<\/b>), <\/span>Catherine Keener (<\/span>Capote<\/b>, <\/span>Get Out<\/b>). The screenplay has been written by Todd Phillips and <\/span>Scott Silver. The movie will arrive in theaters on October 4th 2024, while its world premiere will most likely happen at the next Venice Film Festival.<\/span><\/p>\n
