Briarcliff Ent<\/a>. has dripped an official US trailer for Luc Besson<\/a>‘s movie\u00a0DogMan<\/i><\/b>, which first premiered last year at the 2023 Venice Film Festival.<\/p>\n

From acclaimed The Fifth Element, The Professional director Luc Besson\u2019s latest film follows a traumatic childhood, finds salvation and justice through his connection with dogs.<\/p>\n

In the trailer, Caleb Landry Jones\u00a0plays\u00a0Douglas Munrow, a fragile victim of childhood abuse who relives his past while being interviewed by a psychiatrist (Jojo T. Gibbs) after Douglas is accused of murder. But turns out Douglas\u2019 childhood was far from fetching, with his only source of love being the dogs his father (Clemens Schick) would lock him in cages.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always like disguises. That\u2019s what you do when you don\u2019t really know who you are, right? You dress up to make up a past to forget your own,\u201d Douglas says in the footage. Speaking of dogs, he says \u201cthey only have one flaw, they trust humans.\u201d The film gets violent in the second half, turning into a vengeance film taking out the bad guys with all of his dogs helping.<\/p>\n

The film has an edgy indie feel reminiscent of Besson’s earlier works such as Subway<\/i>\u00a0<\/strong>and his other early films like\u00a0The Big Blue<\/i><\/strong>,\u00a0La Femme Nikita<\/i><\/strong>, &\u00a0The Professional<\/strong><\/i>.<\/p>\n

Jones, who has appeared in the acclaimed likes of Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing<\/strong>, Missouri<\/strong> and Nitram<\/strong>,he tackles another engaging character here, besides Jones, the film also stars Christopher Denham, Marisa Berenson, Michael Garza, and Jojo T. Gibbs.<\/p>\n

Originally scheduled for 19 April 2023, the release was pushed back in hopes to secure a premiere at an autumn film festival after positive reception from buyers at the European Film Market in February 2023. It was also invited at the 28th Busan International Film Festival \u00a0in the Open Cinema section and was screened on 6 October 2023<\/p>\n

\u201cDogMan<\/strong>\u201d is Besson\u2019s first film since 2019\u2019s \u201cAnna<\/strong>,\u201d it will release in select theatres March 29.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
