Now, Searchlight has dropped a new trailer for Lanthimos\u2019 latest outing, \u201c<strong>Kinds of Kindness<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Kinds of Kindness<\/strong> is a triptych fable, following a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife who was missing-at-sea has returned and seems a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Besides Stone, the rest of the cast includes Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley, both of whom were in \u201cPoor Things\u201d as well, in addition to Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie and Hunter Schafer. Lanthimos co-wrote the script for \u201cKinds of Kindness\u201d with a frequent collaborator Efthimis Filippou, with whom he previously collaborated on \u201c<strong>The Lobster<\/strong>,\u201d \u201c<strong>Killing of a Sacred Deer<\/strong>\u201d and \u201c<strong>Dogtooth<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The trailer Brin\u2019s the vibes of Quentin Tarantino\u2019s<i> &#8220;<strong>Pulp Fiction<\/strong><\/i>,&#8221; but Lanthimos makes sure that his signature filmmaking touches are present throughout the preview.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In \u201c<strong>Poor Things<\/strong>,\u201d Stone starred as Bella Baxter, a Victorian-era woman who committed suicide and is brought back to life with the brain of her unborn baby. The film won Academy Awards for best production design, costume design hair and makeup and best actress. The film was nominated for a total of 11 Oscars, including best picture.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Stone and Lanthimos\u2019 first feature collaboration \u201c<strong>The Favourite<\/strong>\u201d was set in 18th-century England and starred Stone and Rachel Weisz as cousins competing for the attention of Queen Anne (Olivia Colman); the film received 10 Oscar nods 3.
