{"id":23113,"date":"2024-04-20T17:53:25","date_gmt":"2024-04-20T21:53:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?p=23113"},"modified":"2024-04-20T17:53:25","modified_gmt":"2024-04-20T21:53:25","slug":"keanu-reeves-teams-with-the-triangle-of-sadness-helmer-ruben-ostlund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?p=23113","title":{"rendered":"Keanu Reeves Teams with &#8220;The Triangle of Sadness&#8221; Helmer Ruben \u00d6stlund"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00a9Courtesy of Siberia, Saban Films\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0000206\/\">Keanu Reeves<\/a> is reportedly being considered for the starring role in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm1128037\/\">Ruben \u00d6stlund<\/a>\u2019s new film <em><strong>The Entertainment System is Down<\/strong><\/em>, which will likely begin shooting later this year. <br \/>Though plot details are still sketchy, <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2024\/film\/global\/keanu-reeves-ruben-ostlund-the-entertainment-system-is-down-1235943192\/\"><em>Variety<\/em><\/a> is reporting that the film will follow a planeload of passengers who must deal with \u201cboredom and their own thoughts\u201d as their in-flight entertainment system conks out. \u00d6stlund said that he was designing the movie to be a social satire that would focus on the \u201cchaos and rages among passengers\u201d in the aftermath of the technical meltdown.<br \/><br \/>As he told <em>Variety<\/em>, \u201cSo it\u2019s going to be like a study of how human beings interact in this little laboratory that is a plane. It will look at how modern human beings are wrecked under these circumstances.&#8221; <br \/><br \/>\u00d6stlund told reporters that he wanted his new film to disturb audiences and even cause them to walk out. \u201cI think it\u2019s going to be more provocative than any violent, any disturbing content,\u201d he was quoted as saying. \u201cBecause to be left alone with your thoughts and challenging the audience to do the same thing, then it\u2019s going to be very interesting.&#8221;<br \/><br \/>Keanu Reeves recently played the leading character in <a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/news\/john-wick-chapter-4-casts-mortal-kombat-actor-hiroyuki-sanada-opposite-keanu-reeves\/\"><em><strong>John Wick: Chapter 4<\/strong><\/em><\/a>. In his next project, he will be voicing the animated character of Shadow in <em><strong>Sonic the Hedgehog 3<\/strong><\/em>, to be released this coming December. Reeves will also be playing the role of an angel in Aziz Ansari\u2019s upcoming film <a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/news\/sandra-oh-joins-good-fortune-with-keanu-reeves\/\"><em><strong>Good Fortune<\/strong><\/em><\/a>. He\u2019s also set to appear in <em><strong>Outcome<\/strong><\/em>, a dark comedy by Jonah Hill, and in <em><strong>Ballerina<\/strong><\/em>, where he will star opposite Ana de Armas.<br \/><br \/>Ruben \u00d6stlund served last year as Jury President for the 76th Cannes Film Festival.
