Each shows received 13 nominations this morning, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The former is a biographical musical about Alicia Keyes, while the latter is a dramatic stage play whose music was penned by American playwright David Adjmi.

The two productions’ tie-breaking nominations were followed by The Outsiders with 12, Cabaret with 9 and Appropriate with 8. The shows were the most nominated among the 36 eligible musicals and plays that opened on Broadway this past year.

The nominations were announced this morning on YouTube by Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who’s known for his appearance in the Tony Award-winning musical comedy, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He was joined by Tony Award-winning Hamilton actress, Renée Elise Goldsberry .

With its 13 nominations, Stereophonic became the most nominated play in Tony Awards history today. It received acting nods for almost the entire cast.

Several other shows also had most of their leading performers get nominated, including Days of Wine and Roses, which closed early.
