Included will be writers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm1098479\/\">Justin Marks<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm12138076\/\">Rachel Kondo<\/a> as well as executive producer Michaela Clavell and leading actor <a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/news\/hiroyuki-sanada-reportedly-returning-for-second-season-of-fxs-shogun\/\">Hiroyuki Sanada,<\/a> who is also a producer of the series. For his part, Sanada signed an agreement that he would return in the starring role if FX wanted to create additional seasons for the acclaimed production.<br \/><br \/>At the end of the first season last month, Marks was quoted as saying: \u201cI think if we had a story, if we could find a story, we would be open to it. \u2026It\u2019s also just about, do people want more of it? But it\u2019s also about, not even topping the book, but how do you even equal the roadmap that Clavell laid out? And I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s possible.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1774669342741533\" data-ad-slot=\"1211148813\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<p><br \/>That 10-episode first season of <a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/interviews\/shogun-interview-hiroyuki-sanada-anna-sawai-eriko-miyagawa\/\"><em><strong>Sh\u014dgun<\/strong> <\/em><\/a>concluded in April after <a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/news\/shogun-sets-streaming-records-during-its-first-week\/\">setting records<\/a> as the most-watched and costliest scripted show it has ever made. Their efforts paid off when its debut attracted some nine million streaming views via Hulu, Disney+, and Star+. This is not the first time Clavell\u2019s novel has been adapted for television: in 1980, Richard Chamberlain starred in a miniseries broadcast on NBC.<\/p>\r\n<p>Speaking to <em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> in February of this year, FX\u2019s chief executive officer John Landgraf was quoted as saying that a favorable audience response to <em><strong>Sh\u014dgun<\/strong><\/em> might pave the way for similar ambitious projects: \u201cIt depends on how successful it is and whether there\u2019s an appetite for it,\u201d he said. \u201cUltimately, the audience gets to decide whether it\u2019s something they want.
