Potential scriptwriters <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0963359\/\">Jane Goldman<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm2616883\/\">Honey Ross<\/a>, a mother-daughter team, may also be involved in the negotiations, reports <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2024\/05\/barbarella-movie-sydney-sweeney-jane-goldman-edgar-wright-1235914102\/\"><em>Deadline<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<p>Wright\u2019s directorial credits include <em><strong>Baby Driver, Hot Fuzz, Last Night in Soho, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World<\/strong><\/em>, and <em><strong>Shaun of the Dead<\/strong><\/em>. In his next project, he will direct Glen Powell in a film adaptation for Paramount Pictures of Stephen King\u2019s <em><strong>The Running Man<\/strong><\/em>.<br \/>Goldman\u2019s screenwriting credits include scripts for <em><strong>Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class<\/strong><\/em> and the <em><strong>Kingsman<\/strong> <\/em>franchise. Her daughter worked on the BBC One series <em><strong>Everything I Know About Love<\/strong><\/em>.<br \/><br \/>Sydney Sweeney\u2019s most recent movie appearances were in the starring roles of <em><strong>Anyone But You<\/strong><\/em> and <em><strong>Madame Web<\/strong><\/em>, both for Sony. Though the latter film garnered only lukewarm reviews, she credits it for advancing her screen career.<\/p>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1774669342741533\" data-ad-slot=\"1211148813\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<p>&#8220;To me, that film was a building block, it\u2019s what allowed me to build a relationship with Sony,\u201d Sweeney was quoted as saying. \u201cWithout doing <em><strong>Madame Web<\/strong><\/em> I wouldn\u2019t have a relationship with the decision-makers over there. Everything in my career I do not just for that story, but strategic business decisions. Because I did that, I was able to sell <em><strong>Anyone But You<\/strong><\/em>. I was able to get <em><strong>Barbarella<\/strong><\/em>.\u201d <br \/><br \/>The <em><strong>Barbarella<\/strong> <\/em>story was adapted from a comic series by French author-illustrator Jean-Claude Forest. The 1968 film starring Jane Fonda has since become a cult classic, appreciated for its campiness as well as its sci-fi credentials in portraying the adventures of Barbarella trying to track down Duran Duran, an evil scientist bent on destroying humanity. Plot details have not yet been revealed for the upcoming reboot. <br \/><br \/>Jane Fonda, now 88, shows no signs of slowing down.
