A Quiet Place <\/em><\/strong>series writer-director, John Krasinski has already been developing ideas for a third entry in the hit horror film franchise, his wife and co-star in the series, Emily Blunt, has revealed. The news comes as Paramount Pictures is finally set to release the anticipated first sequel, A Quiet Place Part II<\/em><\/strong>, in theaters tomorrow, May 28, after multiple COVID-related delays.<\/p>\n

Blunt won the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of Evelyn Abbott, the wife of Krasinski’s character of Lee, in the original 2018 movie. While promoting her return to the franchise in the new follow-up, she told Collider<\/a> that her husband\/co-star “has a whole arc of ideas that could work. I think he just wanted to see how people responded to this one before he fully engaged his brain on the third one. But he has a couple of great ideas.<\/p>\n

The Golden Globe-winning actress’ admission comes after Paramount Pictures revealed last November that it was moving forward with plans for a second sequel in the series. At the time, they had brought on Take Shelter<\/em><\/strong> writer-director, Jeff Nichols to pen and helm A Quiet Place Part III<\/strong><\/em>, and he was set to base the script on Krasinski’s original idea.<\/p>\n

The news of a third entry also comes after the Jack Ryan<\/strong><\/em> actor was initially hesitant to make A Quiet Place Part II<\/strong><\/em>. But after the original film received massive acclaim from critics and audiences, he eventually changed his mind about making the first sequel, which chronicles the Abbott family’s struggle to learn how to navigate and survive in a post-apocalyptic world.<\/p>\n

Krasinski felt that he could make more entries in the franchise without compromising the integrity of the first movie because he developed natural ideas about how his character’s family would react to their new circumstances. He also revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> that once he “realized I could organically bring back these themes and these storylines from the first one,” he felt comfortable moving forward with sequels.<\/p>\n
