His brother <\/span><b>Craig<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> announced it with this statement: \u201cIt was a sad day, as we said goodbye to my brother Morgan. Morgan gave so much through his art, ideas and generosity. The world has lost a true creative genius and a special man. I am so proud to have worked together with him\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Morgan Spurlock\u2019s career had its breakthrough in 2004 when he released \u2018<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0390521\/?ref_=nm_knf_t_1\"><b>Super Size Me<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019, which obtained an Acadamy Awards nomination as best documentary. Most importantly, it raised the debate about American food habits, especially regarding fast food. In \u2018Super Size Me\u2019 Spurlock himself was the protagonist of the controversial experiment involving eating only McDonald\u2019s meals for 30 straight days. A diet that had a significant impact on his physical and mental health at that time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1774669342741533\" data-ad-slot=\"1211148813\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018Super Size Me\u2019 was one of the hits at the Sundance Film Festival 2004, where achieved a prize for directing. It also won the inaugural Writers Guild of America Best Documentary Screenplay Award. In 2017 Spurlock realized \u2018<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt7215262\/?ref_=nm_flmg_t_2_prd\"><b>Super Size Me 2: Holy Chicken!<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019, in which he tried to open his fast food restaurant based on fried chicken meals. This has been his last documentary.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Morgan Spurlock was born on November 7th, 1970 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and raised in Beckley, where he graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. In 1993 he graduated from New York University.\u00a0 His career hasn\u2019t been only about \u2018Super Size Me\u2019: in 2008 he directed the satyrical documentary \u2018<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0963208\/?ref_=nm_flmg_t_61_prd\"><b>Where in the World Is Osama bin Laden?<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019 and in 2012 <\/span><b>\u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt2294729\/?ref_=nm_knf_t_3\">Mansome<\/a>\u2019<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> among many other documentaries and TV episodes.
