Although Tony Goldwyn may be better known to people for his acting roles in movies like <\/span>Ghost<\/i><\/b> and on the TV series, <\/span>Scandal<\/i><\/b>, he\u2019s also been directing since making <\/span>A Walk on the Moon<\/i><\/b> in 1999. His new dramedy <\/span>Ezra<\/i><\/b><\/a>, hitting theaters nationwide on May 31, is Goldwyn\u2019s first theatrical feature since <\/span>Conviction<\/i><\/b> in 2010.<\/span><\/p>\n

It<\/span> stars Bobby Cannavale as stand-up comedian Max, whose autistic son Ezra (William A. Fitzgerald) is having problems at school, but when Max\u2019s agent (Whoopi Goldberg) gets him an audition for the \u201cJimmy Kimmel Show,\u201d Max takes Ezra on a cross-country road trip to Hollywood, much to the concern of his ex-wife (Rose Byrne) and father (Robert De Niro) who have become accustomed to him acting irresponsibly. It\u2019s a movie that has moments of humor and comedy but also takes a poignant and emotional look at what it\u2019s like to parent someone on the spectrum.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In an exclusive video interview, <\/span>Cinema Daily US<\/span><\/i> spoke with Goldwyn about deciding to direct his good friend Tony Spiridakis\u2019 personal screenplay, casting Cannavale and his real-life wife Byrne, as well as finding the talented William A.
