Gere also starred in the BBC Two miniseries <em><strong>MotherFatherSon<\/strong><\/em> in 2019. The actor is best known, however, for his performances in such iconic films as <em><strong>An Officer and a Gentleman<\/strong><\/em>, <em><strong>American Gigolo,<\/strong> <strong>Chicago<\/strong><\/em>, <em><strong>Pretty Woman<\/strong><\/em>, and<em><strong> Primal Fear<\/strong><\/em>.<br \/><br \/>Gere will be joining <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm1055413\/\">Michael Fassbender<\/a> and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0942482\/\"> Jeffrey Wright<\/a> in the <em><strong>Agency<\/strong><\/em> project, which has been described as a take on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt4063800\/\"><em><strong>Le Bureau<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, a critically acclaimed French production. In <em><strong>The Agency<\/strong><\/em>, he will be playing the role of Bosko, a London-based character who served for eight years as an undercover agent.<br \/><br \/>In announcing the casting, Chris McCarthy said that \u201cRichard Gere is in a class of his own, adored by generations of fans worldwide for his exceptional ability to infuse depth and authenticity into every role he plays.\u201d McCarthy is the co-CEO of Paramount Global as well as the president and CEO of Showtime &amp; MTV Entertainment Studios.<\/p>\r\n<p><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1774669342741533\" data-ad-slot=\"1211148813\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\u00a0<br \/><br \/>The official synopsis for <em><strong>The Agency<\/strong><\/em> states: \u201cThe all-new political thriller follows Martian (Fassbender), a covert CIA agent, ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. When the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites. His career, his real identity and his mission are pitted against his heart; hurling them both into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage.\u201d<br \/><br \/><em><strong>Le Bureau<\/strong><\/em> had earlier focused on the daily life and missions of agents working in the Bureau of Legends, the principal agency for training undercover agents in France\u2019s counter-espionage service.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Gere\u2019s other upcoming projects include appearances with Jacob Elordi and Una Thurman in Paul Schrader\u2019s <em><strong>Oh, Canada.<\/strong><\/em> He is also starring with Diane Keaton and Blake Lively in <em><strong>The Making Of<\/strong><\/em>.<br \/><br \/><em><strong>The Agency<\/strong><\/em> is now in production in London, produced as a joint project by Showtime Studios and 101 Studios.
