Li Jun Li<\/a> will be appearing in the cast for Marvel\u2019s upcoming live-action Spider-Man Noir<\/strong><\/em><\/a> series that will likely debut on MGM+ and Prime Video. She will portray a yet-unnamed character who will appear regularly in the role of a nightclub singer in New York. The first two episodes in the series will be directed by Emmy winner Harry Bradheer, who will also serve as executive producer.<\/p>\r\n

In joining the Spider-Noir<\/strong><\/em> cast, Li will be joining lead performer Nicholas Cage<\/a>, who had earlier voiced the character in the 2018 film: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse<\/strong><\/em>.<\/a>

According to the official synopsis for the film: \u201cThe show tells the story of an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city\u2019s one and only superhero.\u201d His character is based on one created for Marvel by David Hine, Fabrice Sapolsky, and Carmine Di Giandomenico.<\/p>\r\n

News of Li’s involvement was first reported by Deadline<\/em>.<\/a><\/p>\r\n

Li, a Shanghai-born American performer, is now at work on Ryan Coogler\u2019s vampire movie. starring Michael B Jordan, which is in production.at Warner Bros. She\u2019d recently played the female lead in Alma and the Wolf<\/strong><\/em>, by Paramount Pictures. Li had earlier starred with Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie in Damien Chazelle\u2019s Babylon<\/strong><\/em>. Other of her credits include Wu Assassins, Evil, Florida Man, Sex\/Life<\/strong><\/em>, and Based on a True Story<\/strong><\/em>.

Also included in the upcoming series will be Lamorne Morris<\/a>, who will be playing the role of long-time supporting character Robbie Robertson, a Black journalist in the New York of the 1930s. Roberston is described by the producers as a \u201cdriven, hard-working [reporter who] won\u2019t take no for an answer. … He takes on riskier stories that no one else would touch in order to catch attention and a paycheck. He is willing to do whatever is necessary for his career.”

Spider-Noir<\/strong><\/em> is the second of two shows that Amazon and Sony were hoping to develop around the Spider-Man character. The first one, Silk: Spider Society<\/strong><\/em>, was jettisoned by Amazon this past May.<\/p>\r\n
