Joan Chen<\/strong>\u00a0is a Chinese-American actress and film director. In China, she starred in the 1979 film\u00a0Little Flower<\/strong>\u00a0[zh]\u00a0and came to the attention of American audiences for her performance in the 1987 film\u00a0The Last Emperor<\/strong>, which won nine\u00a0Academy Awards\u00a0including\u00a0Best Picture. She is also known for her roles in\u00a0Twin Peaks<\/strong>,\u00a0Red Rose<\/strong> White Rose<\/strong>,\u00a0Saving Face\u00a0and\u00a0The Home Song Stories<\/strong>, and for directing the feature film\u00a0Xiu Xiu: The Sent Down Girl<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Nobuhiro Hosoki<\/strong> grew up watching American films since he was a kid; he decided to go to the United States thanks to seeing the artistry of Stanley Kubrick’s “A Clockwork Orange.\u201d After graduating from film school, he worked as an assistant director on TV Tokyo\u2019s program called “Morning Satellite” at the New York branch office but he didn\u2019t give up on his interest in cinema. He became a film reporter for via Yahoo Japan News. In that role, he writes news articles, picks out headliners for Yahoo News, as well as interviewing Hollywood film directors, actors, and producers working in the domestic circuit in the USA. He also does production interviews for Japanese distributors of American films and for in-theater on-sale programs. He is now the editor-in-chief of Cinemadailyus.com while continuing his work for Japan.<\/p>\n
