After the incredible start of the <\/span>Disney Convention<\/b> yesterday, Saturday has been a quieter day at<\/span> D23<\/b> in Anaheim. Even if not for the fans, who arrived at the Convention Center way more numerous than yesterday, eager to collect all the super-geek gadgets that the stands in the Exhibit Hall offered. The merchandising of Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and of course Disney Movies attracted an incredible number of enthusiastic people.<\/span><\/p>\n

About the events of Saturday, the most important in the morning was the Marvel <\/strong><\/span>Animation Sneak Peek<\/strong>, the 1-hour panel where the audience was able to discover a new project by the Major. The first of them to be shown to the viewers has been the second season of <\/span>X-Men \u201897<\/b><\/a>: the new episodes which contain a bunch of new characters that we won\u2019t spoil for you, have been introduced by <\/span>Cal Dodd<\/b> and <\/span>Lenore Zann<\/b>, who give their voice to <\/span>Wolverine<\/b> and<\/span> Rogue<\/b>. They are the same dubbers that worked on the original X-Men series in 1992.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After that <\/span>Bryan Andrews<\/b>, executive producer and director of<\/span> What If\u2026?<\/b><\/a> for Disney +, talked about the upcoming and final 3rd season. \u201cSince we wanted to explore the whole potential of these series, we decided to move around the genres in the new episodes, like for example western\u201d. The clip that was shown to the audience goes in another direction, paying a lovely tribute to all the Japanese manga robots of the Seventies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The executive producer <\/span>Ryan Coogler<\/b> took the stage to present <\/span>Eyes of Wakanda<\/b>, an animation series that will tell the story of the civilization and the Country through different years and eras. The fight for preservation and the struggle to make the outside world a better place will be the link that will connect the episodes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u201cmain course\u201d of the Marvel Animation Sneak Peek has been <\/span>Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man<\/b>, an animated series that will bring back the superhero into his daily routine of saving New York from supervillains. In this series, <\/span>Peter Parker<\/b>\u2019s mentor is going to be <\/span>Norman Osborn<\/b>, dubbed by the Acadamy Award nominated <\/span>Colman Domingo<\/b>, who showed up on the stage to greet the cheering audience. The clip that we saw on the big screen of the Premier Stage involves <\/span>Doctor Strange<\/b>, <\/span>Venom<\/b>, and the spider which is going to transmit superpowers to the teenager Peter Parker\u2026When everyone thought that the panel was going to end, Bryan Andrews came back with one last, acclaimed surprise: <\/span>Marvel Zombies<\/b>, a four-part event that is basically a spin-off the the zombie episode of What If\u2026? Season 1. The clip shown in the world premiere is a stunning mix between of course a zombie-movie and a superhero-movie, but also a musical and an homage to Mad Max. What else can you ask to Marvel Animation?<\/span><\/p>\n

The main attraction of the day was the Disney Experience Showcase, which took place at the Honda Center at 7pm. Another 3-hour show about the evolution of Disney Theme Parks. A lot of new experiences have been announced all over the world regarding movies like <\/span>Avatar: The Way of Water<\/b> and <\/span>Avatar: Fire and Ash<\/b>, <\/span>Coco<\/b>, <\/span>Frozen<\/b>, <\/span>Indiana Jones<\/b>, and <\/span>Encanto<\/b>. All the new theme parks are already in development and will open in the next two, or three years. Disney is also building an <\/span>Avengers Campus<\/b> in California, where <\/span>Robert Downey Jr.<\/b>, will reprise for a limited time the role of <\/span>Tony Stark\/Iron Man<\/b> to welcome fans from all over the world. The last and probably biggest surprise of the night was the announcement of a new park entirely dedicated to <\/span>Disney Villains<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
