In honor of the news of the movie&#8217;s screening at the French festival next month, UniFrance, an organization that promotes French cinema, is also highlighting the trailer for the drama.<\/p>\n<p>Besides making headlines for screening at Cannes this summer, <em><strong>Aline<\/strong><\/em> is also generating buzz for being inspired by the singer&#8217;s life, as well as using her acclaimed songs. However, the biopic wasn&#8217;t allowed to use her real name<\/p>\n<p>While <strong><em>Aline <\/em><\/strong>is scheduled to screen at Cannes this year, it was released in France last November, a month after its trailer was initially released. At the time of the trailer&#8217;s premiere, Gaumont Distribution was in negotiations to secure a deal to release the drama in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Filmmaker Val\u00e9rie Lemercier co-wrote, directed and played the title character in <strong><em>Aline<\/em><\/strong>. The movie chronicles the real life five-time Grammy Award-winning musician&#8217;s personal relationship with her much-older manager-turned-husband, Ren\u00e9 Ang\u00e9lil, with whom she had three children. The biopic makes the romance between Dion and her spouse, who were married for 22 years until his death in 2016, a central focal point in its plot.<\/p>\n<p>The following synopsis for <em><strong>Aline<\/strong><\/em> has been released:<\/p>\n<p>Quebec, late 1960s, Sylvette and Anglomard welcome their 14th child: Aline. In the Dieu family, music reigns supreme, and when Aline grows up, she and her family discover that she has a golden voice. When he hears that voice, music producer Guy-Claude has just one thing in mind \u2026 to make Aline the greatest singer in the world.
