Warner Brothers has dropped a new trailer for \u201cCompanion<\/strong><\/a>\u201d which is a psychological thriller stars \u201cHeretic<\/strong>\u201d actress Sophie Thatcher<\/a>, directed by Drew Hancock.<\/p>\n

In the “Companion<\/strong>” trailer, it is revealed that Sophie Thatcher is playing an android named Iris, which was designed to be the girlfriend of Jack Quaid’s character. The trailer suggests that this is not a joyful love story. Nevertheless, Iris recollects that killing Quaid’s character, Josh, was one of the happiest days of her life.<\/p>\n

Speaking with\u00a0Entertainment Weekly<\/span><\/a>, Quaid said that the script to “Companion”<\/strong> was one of the best that he\u2019s \u201cever read.\u201d He added, \u201cI never saw any of the twists coming, but it\u2019s not necessarily a movie that relies on a big reveal, and every reveal was fresh.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/ins>\n

Hancock, who wrote the screenplay, expressed that letting the audience know the movie is about a robot is a way to prevent anyone from dismissing it as another robot movie. Because it\u2019d be so easy to just be like, \u2018This is “M3GAN,”<\/strong> or, \u2018This is the Megan Fox movie “Subservience.” It\u2019s a little different to be like, \u2018No, this is a robot movie, but it\u2019s not like any other robot movie that\u2019s out right now.\u2019 It\u2019s not A.I. gone wrong, it\u2019s A.I. gone right.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hancock also stated that the discovery that Thatcher’s character is an android is not a spoiler, as he stated that the movie does not begin until that revelation. He continued, ‘This movie is about self-discovery and, at its core, it’s a break-up movie where this woman finds empowerment through self-discovery.’<\/p>\n

The film also stars Luke Cage, Megan Suri, Harvey guile, and Rupert Friend. “Companion<\/strong>” will be released in United States theaters and IMAX on January 31, 2025.<\/p>\n<\/ins>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
