{"id":28971,"date":"2025-03-01T16:20:21","date_gmt":"2025-03-01T21:20:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?p=28971"},"modified":"2025-03-02T23:45:00","modified_gmt":"2025-03-03T04:45:00","slug":"riff-raff-director-dito-montiel-video-interview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?p=28971","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Riff Raff\u2019 Director Dito Montiel on Assembling the Cast for His Crime-Comedy (Video Interview)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Since coming onto the scene in 2006 with <\/span><b><i>A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, filmmaker Dito Montiel has made eight feature films, but his latest, <\/span><b><i>Riff Raff<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, is a rare exception, as it\u2019s one that Montiel didn\u2019t also write.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The ensemble crime-comedy stars Lewis Pullman as Rocco, who shows up at the home of his father Vincent (Ed Harris) along with his pregnant girlfriend, Marina (Emanuela Postacchini), on the run from a pair of killers (Bill Murray, Pete Davidson), who want revenge for something Rocco did. Also gathered at the house are Vincent\u2019s daughter (Gabrielle Union) and grandson (Miles J. Davis) and his foul-mouthed drunken former wife Ruth (Jennifer Coolidge).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1774669342741533\" data-ad-slot=\"1211148813\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cinema Daiily US<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> spoke with Montiel about mixing comedy and drama together into a crime movie, casting the many different roles, including some of the day players like P.J. Byrne and Scott Campbell.
