Paramount Pictures’ new action movie, <\/span>Novocaine<\/i><\/b>, features a crazy mix of action, romance, comedy and gore, but really, it\u2019s the high-concept premise of a man who can\u2019t feel any pain, played by Jack Quaid, that sets it apart from any other even remotely similar action movie.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Quaid plays mild-manner assistant bank manager Nathan Caine, who has a neurological condition that means he can\u2019t feel anything. When his long-time crush Sherry (Amber Midthunder) is kidnapped during a bank robbery, he takes it into his own hands to try to rescue her, facing a slew of violent men who don\u2019t mind putting his immunity to pain to the test.<\/span><\/p>\n

The film is directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, who have been working together for over ten years, though <\/span>Novocaine<\/i><\/b> is going to be the duo\u2019s most high-profile release, mainly since it\u2019s getting a nationwide theatrical release. Their earlier 2019 film, Villains,<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<\/em>offered a similar mix of genres with its twist on the home invasion film, but\u00a0Novocaine<\/strong> <\/em>is likely to put them more on the map.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
